Business Profile

As one of the main attractions in the market town of Llangollen, Llangollen Wharf has been running for over 100 years.

Offering trips along the Llangollen Canal, it's the perfect opportunity to take a leisurely cruise on your own private boat, whether you're with friends, family or part of a corporate team.

From the Wharf, you can embark on a horse drawn boat trip along the feeder for the main canal, taking in the sights and sounds around you as you drift through the stunning mountain countryside. These trips range from 45 minutes to 2 hours in length.

Educational horse drawn trips are also available for school groups, providing an interesting day out for children of all ages.

The other trip is a motorised aqueduct boat trip, which takes you along the unforgettable Pontycysyllte Aqueduct built by Thomas Telford. The aqueduct is the biggest navigable aqueduct in the country, towering 126ft above the River Dee.

The purpose built narrowboat used on this trip is fully weather proof and centrally heated, with comfortable seats and excellent views. Informative live commentary is available throughout the duration.

Llangollen Wharf also have two purpose built 32' self steer day hire boats for groups of up to 10, which is excellent for travelling across both the canal and the aqueduct.

A Tea Room and Gift Shop are available to visit, located in the old canal warehouse on the Wharf. All of the food served in the tea room is cooked on the premises, ensuring a delicious and fresh menu.

Breakfast and a variety of light lunches are served throughout the day, with Welsh Cream Teas always available, offering home made scones and bara brith complemented with jam and clotted cream.

Home made cakes are also baked and iced on the premises, with the selection varying from day to day as they're made fresh.

The Tea Room is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the year, open daily from 19th March - 30th October 2016.
